It's a J-1375 and is similar to Dana Bickford's pattern medals that were issued around 1897-1900 as bi-mettalic international denominations. Evidentally the idea suggested by Bickford and displayed on the reverse had appeal. I know the Pattern and the So-Called Dollars have appeal to me!!!
Striking design, simple and yet very intricate.

the reverse contains the denominations of different countries and how they relate to the dollar for currency exchange. the idea was for an international coinage system. if you look closely, the border around the denominations is actually rope.
