I thought I'd ask to get everyone's opinion and also to gain insight into which set seems to be the most difficult. You probably know what my answer would be, and if not, you ain't been payin' attention!!!!!image

  • keets, you pose a question and a half here. Interesting. Wish I knew the answer.
I don't c'lect nickels, but I s'pect full steps from the fifties and sixties are perdy hard to find.
But certainly no more hard to find than "S" mint pennies from the teens and twenties!

I'm not sure about Jeffersons in 6FS, but no MS66RD 1926 S Lincoln exists.

I think it's a pretty good poll. Some of these sets are nearly impossible but
they can still be compared if you consider the odds of the coins being found
    in the future.

There are about a dozen of the nickels that are virtually impossible though there
are some coins in almost all these sets that are major stoppers. There are still
some clad dimes which haven't even been graded FB. All of the Ikes are tough.
Gem Franklins with FBL can be elusive. Have you ever seen a choice '82-P 25c?
While the Kennedies might be pretty available you'll find really nice high end coins
    can be hard to locate.

I have only casual knowledge of these series and voted for the Frankies because I know there are a few dates that are excepetionally hard in 66 FBL (53-S comes to mind--I do not know if I am correct). Frankie-philes seem to be among the most dedicated collectors, and I believe that those tough FBL's are probably in strong hands and the likelihood of future discovery is perhaps smaller than some of the other choices. Thenagain, I do not know what I am talking about so I will STFU now. image
  • Which one do I vote for if I just want to see the results?

    hey Sam

you've struck a resounding note on my sinister purpose!!!! each set is indeed easy.............................to a point, then they become exceedingly difficult. amen to the stoppers, they make collecting and assembling sets challenging.

The dollars...basically because I would have poked out both eyes with a hot poker by the time I had been forced to look at enough Sac's to finish. image

Edited to add that in reality I think probably the Jeffersons.
Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.
