1923-S Peace dollars - VAM help needed

I picked up a few circulated Peace dollars yesterday. Two are 1923-S with different double clash spikes on eagle's shoulder. The VAM updates show four with double clash spikes... 1K, 1M, 1N, 1P. Trying to narrow it down.

The first looks like a VAM 1M, maybe? The clashes are in the right place, but the rest of the description doesn't match. Don't see any die lines in the left field on obverse. Do see them on top obverse and all over reverse (mostly above eagle's back and throughout rays on lower right). Also has gouge or clash to right of olive leaves.

Can't find anything close for the second coin. The double clash doesn't match any photos I have.
There's a very small gouge in the O in DOLLAR. Any ideas?

try PMing "peaceman" on these boards. Good guy, and knows a ton about peace dollar vams.
  • Clash marks on Peace $ are common on top of the shoulder (actually the reverse side of the neck on the OBV is imprinted on the reverse which causes it). I can cut and paste about 25 of them right now for sale on ebay, even in MS65. There's no premium in them unless there's an excessive amount, like 3 or more, then we're only talking about bid + $ 10. As far as the die line on the rev. just right of the leaves, that's also very common and has no premium as well. Finally, the mark in the "O" is just way too small to even begin to accept it as a variation (althought I really like your picture skills). Hope that helps.....

Thanks for the kind words puttogether......
