tristar cow palace summary

first went straight to PSA to submit...treated like cattle...not very friendly (although a fella on the side with a vibrant colored shirt was talkative and friendly). whatever. submitted my cards and went on my way.

looked around. first went to a dealer with boxes...got a 05 heritage box. looked around some more. a mixture of graded and ungraded stuff. some graded stuff were reasonably priced, but most were waaaay over SMR. there were not too many modern dealers.

talked to some folks at beckett. i asked them about BCCG, they looked a little angry when i brought it up. they also did something i found peculiar. they grade cards at the show, but it wasnt full service. in other words, they didnt put a slab on and the whole works. Instead, they put the card in a card saver and stuck a grade with their logo on the top. funny thing is i went to a vintage dealer with a ton of stuff graded this way. booked way over SMR. had to chuckle when i saw that.

went to GAI. very friendly folks. actually gave me some free advice on a roy campanella 54 bowman i was going to grade through PSA but decided not to at the last moment.

overall, i didnt overspend. i submitted my cards. got my 05 heritage box. bought a dwayne wade/kirk hinrich rookie for like 3 dollars. that was it.
