Whats the best way to sell key dates?

If someone had some raw key date coins to sell such as cents,nickels and dimes.

Which method would bring the best results?

Selling individually or with the completed series?

Certify and then sell to other collectors. That is the best way to get the most, I think.

I personally wouldn't buy raw key dates on Ebay. Maybe if you get them slabbed and have a good amount of feedback, you could do pretty well.

I wouldn't sell key dates raw ever. You won't maximize the value. I wouldn't suggest ebay either because of all the fees. Same with sending it to auction. Best way is to slab it and see what others are selling for and then try to sell it for the same kind of price to another collector.

How about lumping everything into a big collection, completed sets including all key dates?

If they are original and correctly graded in PCGS holders, I've actually gotten 5-7% more from a top dealer than I would on average gotten net at an major auction. Ebay has too many fees. Collectors here of course will pay the most for a top original piece and no fees involved. With any problems, I'd say ANACS at Heritage gets the most.
