Yes. I bought a 1837 NS: NGC MS65 Sm. Dt. H10C. It wasn't till some time later I checked the census and pop reports on it. A lot better than I imagined and yes it did feel good!
Yep, severaltimes but never with a BIG money coin.....I spent $50 on a 1794 large cent that turned out to be a head of '93 (didn't know when I bought it) and worth perhaps 5x what I paid. There are sometimes "finds" on ebay........
Craig If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!
Same here. Got a Walker for $20 and sold it for $265. One of those DDRs Probably the first and last time that'll ever happen. I have a better chance hitting the lottery.
What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?
In a small way, a few times. It's a nice feeling. Then again, I've let a few good things go awfully cheap before I had my brain around setting up effective auctions too, and I've overpaid for a fair number of things. The last time I crunched numbers around the issue, it seemed like I was just a little ahead of 'the dealer' but not by enough to get excited about.
