Some of you know that I recently broke up my 1938-1964 FS Jefferson Registry
set. Indeed, most of the coins have been sold to board members. Thanks to
those who made purchases - I know the coins are going to good homes!
I had considered doing this for probably the past six months as I just hadn't
been inspired to upgrade the date/mintmark set any further, instead focusing
in on varieties and nicely toned Jeffs. I'll be keeping some of these coins and
will continue to look for interesting examples.
Now, onto new things!
I've thought about doing some sort of type set and, having gained an
appreciation for superbly toned coins, I've decided to make my next main
focus a:
MS Toned Nickel Type Set - Consisting of the following coins:
Shield nickel, with rays
Shield nickel, without rays
Liberty nickel, no CENTS
Liberty nickel, with CENTS
Buffalo nickel, Type 1
Buffalo nickel, Type 2
Jefferson nickel, Rev 38
Jefferson nickel, Rev 40
Jefferson nickel, War
Here's where I need your help. Show me photos of your beautifully toned Shield,
Liberty and Buffalo Type 1 nickels to give me hope and inspiration to find what's
out there! Any words of wisdom regarding finding nice coins in these series are
appreciated as well!
Thanks,
Ken
P.S. I did just acquire this coin for my Type 2 Buffalo slot!
