Reagan on the $50 bill?

Heard a story in passing on the news this morning, but they won't go back and fill in any information.

Anyone else heard anything about a change to the $50 to place Ronnie on it?

I guess it's better than another dead pres on a coin.

WASHINGTON - Minnesota Congressman John Kline wants former President Ronald Reagan's picture to replace Ulysses S. Grant on the $50 bill. Grant was a Civil War general who went on to become president.

Kline, of Lakeville, served as a military aide to Reagan. The Minnesota Republican said Reagan was guided by unwavering principles and a steadfast character. Kline has a photo of him in military dress shaking hands with Reagan prominently displayed on his congressional Web site.

Kline introduced the bill to put Reagan on the $50 bill during the week of what would have been Reagan's 94th birthday.

Other efforts to put Reagan on the nation's currency have gone nowhere

Why can't they just leave this alone. Grant is a very handsome president and looks great on the $50.

I hope that they don't change it...Grant was a real hero, and tough to boot, Reagan was an actor even in his political days and almost bankrupt the nation. Reagan would look good on those rolls of toilet paper that look like money though.

The ONLY nation Reagan nearly bankrupted was the USSR. In fact he DID!!!!!!!
He is the reason we don't worry about communist aggresion in most of the world today.

Reagan did not bankrupt the USSR the flawed communist system did.
