He is a bum, but I guess it's his ring. At least he wasnt' a key member of the Yankees team. I forgot he was even on that team.

I think it is highly unlikely that any player would sue Canseco for the allegations made his book. First, they're all hoping it just goes away and gets forgotten. Second, truth is a defense. Third, the standard for a famous person winning a libel case is pretty high. They would have to prove that Jose published the book with actual malice, meaning he either knew the allegations were false or was reckless in not knowing they were false. That's a fairly high standard in court (though if it could be proven he did not inject the players he claims to have injected, the player might be able to recover.)
Finally, does anyone really believe Canseco's just making all of this stuff up? I don't know, but it seems less likely he would just lie about actually injecting someone. I could see him saying something like "We were all doing it and I told McGwire where I got my stuff. I'm sure he took some." Someone could easily lie about that. But it seems something else to say "I injected McGwire in the butt." I know people like all the time (see Pete Rose) but I'm guessing Canseco's book has a good amount of truth in it. However, the messenger hurts the message.
<< <i>There are a LOT of atheletes that sell their rings and other awards. It seems crazy to us, but everyone here has sold some cards they really didn't want to when life got in the way. Right? Jose has made some decisions so he's selling a ring that he didn't really earn and he'll make a ton of money for it. Seems reasonable to me. I'll be much more surprised if he sells his 1989 ring. >>
