New Purchase: 1878-CC PCGS MS-63 PL Morgan Dollar -- Photos

StuartStuart Posts: 9,761 ✭✭✭✭✭
Here's a new 1878-CC PCGS MS-63 PL Morgan Dollar which I won at auction tonight. It's in the most recent PCGS holder, and appears to be a very nice MS-63 PL, which according to the seller may have some claims towards DMPL.

These photos are from the seller. I'll update the forum after receiving and examining the coin in person, as always!! image

What do you think of her??

Nice Morgan, looks like the obverse held it back

From the photo, I'd say she's pretty nice. Those devices are pretty frosty aren't they? It'll be interesting to see what you think of her when she arrives.
    Best wishes, Pete

Boz, Pete, Foutainheadgold, Wayne and ER: Thanks very much for your posts and for your positive comments on my new 1878-CC Morgan Dollar.

I agree that it's got nice cameo contrast and feel that the mirrors are probably deeply PL, perhaps even bordering on DMPL except for the slight haziness in the central areas of the reverse.

  • Well the choice of most is that she is a great looker. I on the other hand think you need to get rid of it- not as appealing as I know your taste to be- and since I'm not into big mirrors you can send it to me and I will give it a good home....image

oh did I say nice....image you get a image
  • As always, nice coin Stuart.

The 78cc was on the top of my list of coins to look for at this past weekends coin show, but to no avail, I'll keep on looking.
