For the Rosie fans

This came out of a 64 proof set. Yes it is a pointed 9 and yes, it was with an AH Kennedy.

Nice coins. I am surprised that Russ let you acquire the 1964 set with the AH half. Perhaps it wasn't on eBay?

I was collecting back in the 1960s and I remember the pointed 9 when it was found. A bunch of promoters tried to make it as "big" as the 1960 small date cents. Generally they failed, but I still remember all the verbige in Coin Wolrd ads about how this variety was obviously going to be a key for a Rosie dime collection and EVERYONE would want one. Of course, they also sold the coins back in 1964 for a touch less than I expect they go for today... image

For what it's worth, I don't recall much about AH halves back in 1964. It might be my memory slipping, but I can't recall reading anything aobut them at the time...

  • Only reason Russ wasn't in on it was the Kennedy wasn't cameo. I just bought it as an example of the AH to study. Got lucky I guess on the dime.
