Whats the difference between...

a Chrome and a Chrome Refractor? Sorry for the ignorance but as an old school guy I know little about modern cards.

  • Take a look at the back of the card. One is numbered something like 456 of 1956. That's a chrome. Another is numbers 456 of 556. That's a refractor. In fact, if you look at the card's number in the baseball, it will say refractor in small print.

    Here is my non-technical explaination. A chrome card is has a super glossy finish. A refractor card "refracts" light as you turn and look from different angles giving the appearence of different colors. Also the finish seems to be more in depth. I am sure someone else can explain it better, this is just how I would explain it.
