I guess 5-day doesn't mean anything. Grade and Pics

ANACS has had my 1909-S V.D.B. for 10 business days on a 5-day service. Is this normal?

That's pretty unusual....ANACS is usually pretty good with turn-around times, except for economy.

What day did you mail it and how, and what day did you get them back?
  • I mailed it Registered-Insured on February first. I haven’t gotten them back yet. I don’t know how to track it because I downloaded the form so it doesn’t have a submission number. I think I might call on Monday, but, I don’t know how to reference it.

  • If I called, how would I reference this coin? I'm sure it's not the only one they have down there.

Is it the only one with your name on it or do you have different submissions? Just call them, tell them your situation and your name and they will find out the info for you.

When you say they have had your coins for ten business days, are you sure that they received them and have not sent them out yet? In other words, if you are counting from the time you shipped them, that number of days may not be correct. The five business days is from the time they receive them until they are shipped out.
  • I hear what you are saying, but I looked up the Registered Mail # on USPS.com and they received it on the 7th.

  • It has to come back Registered mail to you also which takes 5-7 days (or more). Just call them on Tuesday.

Knowing that, I wouldn't be surprised if they are there on Tuesday. If you call ANACS they will tell you when they shipped them.
  • Did you write 5-day service on the outside of the package? If not that will delay them opening it.
  • Same thing here: used the modern 5-day service w/ fax request. Been 7 business days, no fax report.

And, although not as much with ANACS, but just because the postal tracking number shows it recieved on a specific date such as feb 7, doesnt mean that ANACS logged it in on thier system on the 7th.

Like other sadi, best to call CS

  • I had the same problem once before call them and give the registered mail number thats how they found the status for me. Hope it helps.

  • Got my results faxed to me today, so I think they're in the office. Give them a call.

  • PS if you're interested in what the report looks like, here's mine. Modern crap test run, I think the grades are fairly accurate, though I think one 2004 Kennedy was a legitimate 68.

ANACS is a small organization. Chances are the guy answering the phone may be the same guy grading it image

  • Guys, (and gals) I received my coin back a couple of days ago and I was disappointed. I thought that my coin had been cleaned and I was right. ANACS gave my VDB with AU details a net grade of EF-40. I was hoping for better.
Thanks for all of your replies, by the way. I was chomping at the bit to get that coin back.
