On the YES Network, I am watching a Yankee classic of the 1996 Yankees vs. KC on opening day at Yankee Stadium during a bitter cold April day with snow. A young skinny Derek Jeter was a rookie, it was joe Torre's and Tino's first year as Yankees, and Johhny Damon was in his first full year with no beard and short hair.

This is a classic.

I still have a program from when Damon was a Class A star here in Rockford, Illinois. There were something like 75 players that came through here in Class A. The guy was simply a deer when he was here. Maybe one of the fastest people I had ever seen on a baseball field.
