Graded Rookies Authenticated strikes again

Check out the centering on this "10". It actually says "Centering 9.5" on the slab! As the Scooter would say "Holy Cow"!

  • << <i>Graded Rookies Authenticated, featured by Beckett in the August 2001 issue of Baseball Card Monthly (e-Trends), is amongst the toughest graders in the industry. >>

That is the funniest thing I have heard all week!!!!!!
Move along folks.......Nothing to see here.
  • In an attempt to show how ridiculous that grade is, I summoned a panel of experts to view the card in question: my wife and 2 sons ages 7 and 9. My wife (who thinks "Pie Traynor" is a cooking show) said "No Way is it a 10", while my two boys said "Yes it's a 10". Maybe they can work for GRA now.

It looks like the same grader that works at Beckett works here too!
  • image Check out the rest of his junk.
Average card is 80/20 centering. I think that's the requiredment
    for their gem mint grade.

"A Graded Rookies Authenticated Gem Mint 10 card is a piece of crap. Attributes include four dull corners, out of focus, boogers, and bodily fluid stains. A Gem Mint 10 card must have staining of some kind, but an allowance may be made for 5 or 6 printing imperfection, indentations, or scratches if it does not impair the overall appeal for the blind. The image must be centered on the card within a tolerance not to exceed approximately 75/25 to 95/5 percent on the front, and 95/5 percent on the reverse."

How can you say such a thing??? He's a nationally-renowned expert on graded cards. See? "Graded Rookies, Inc. is a leading national dealer of investment grade sports cards, specializing in Gem Mint BGS, PSA and GRA rookie cards. Founded in 2000, Graded Rookies, Inc. has been featured by Beckett, Yahoo!, and the Jim Rome National Radio Show, as well as consulted by The Wall Street Journal for an in depth investigative report on the growth of the graded card market. The guy with the tattoo is the head grader for GRA. He's holding a nifty device to grade his next 90-10 centered card a GEM 10.

    Behind him is pandrews
