Received a really good price on...UPDATED

the 2005 Canadian specimen set I bought from the local Canadian post office (I'm visiting Canada now, working vacation, for those who may not know). They are
thinking of closing this branch, so they are selling smoe coins at 25% off, and they sold me the 2005 Specimen set for Can. $38.21 plus tax (but no shipping!). The RCM is
selling it for Can. $39.00 plus tax and shipping. I also bought the 2004 iceburg hologram coin at 25% off. This is the iceburg coin

They had quite a few other coins at the 25% off - the butterfly one, the lighthouse, etc. (2004 coins). I would've bought more if our business wasn't so slow right now.

They are having a meeting (rally) tomorrow at noon to "Save the P.O. branch". I do hope they keep it open, because I've found some really nice buys there in the past!

If I had my own transportation, I would offer to buy the discounted coins for you, but I have to rely on a friend to get around, and not sure if I'll be back in that area before
I leave here or not.

    Way Cool!!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • Why don't we just buy the branch? We could then complain to ourselves about things lost in the post image

Nice pick up on the coins

    Neat.

I could've given you a great price on an un-housebroken lab puppy, too. image

But we finally got him a doghouse and kennel, so everybody's more comfortable now.

  • I MAY be able to get back to the post office and the local Canadian coin store, so if any of you would like me to buy any Canadian coins for you, including any of 2004 ones at 25% off, please let me know as soon as possible! I'd be happy to try to buy them for you if you PM me before I go. image

  • Susan - It may sound crazy but I would like a good example of the "Poppy Dollar" if they are still available.
