What criteria does psa follow when grading coins?

Hi- I need a little help! What criteria does psa follow when grading coins? I have a batch
of 1971 topps baseball coins and I want to know what psa looks for when grading them before picking out the ones I want to submit. Any insight would be appreciated! Paul

Honestly - I don't know if anyone knows. They don't publish their coin grading per se - and they actually end up in PCGS holders - so it's unclear if it is PSA or PCGS who is actually doing the grading.

Rust is bad. Scratches on the metal are bad. Centering is a concern - esp. for some pin issues.

But, after that, if there are not scratches or rust, and it's centered well - I don't know if there is any decent way to differentiate between an 8, 9 and a 10
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • Do the employees grade both PSA and PCGS? I would think they would separate the two areas.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!

Right - but you send the baseball coins to PSA, you pay PSA fees (much lower than PCGS fees), but they end up in PCGS holders and have to be on a separate invoice...
