What does "dipped and stripped Mercury dimes and Morgan dollars" have to with lincoln cents?

Dang... I must have the wrong stuff. All I've got that's "finest known" is one of them darn Mercury dimes.

Stewart. It's got to be getting difficult to improve that set of yours.

    Who is this "Noone" character?

BTW, I have several finest known Lincoln wheats - trouble is, the PCGS POP is like 348/0.

I think Stewart has been selling spares hence the apparent influx of cash to improve his set. Honestly I am not sure he could improve it and is just ribbing velveeta.

  • I'm a hundredaire and I collect Lincolns, does that count? Apparently not.

  • This is like another soap opera. Stewart, I know you are not going to bid more than your $2000 credit line in St. Louis. image Hopefully Bender will be in Antarctica, but I know he is after these. Maybe I'll just bid my lights out on the 1957 67RD. What else do you like Stewart? (DON'T TELL EVERONE!!!).

Stewart, I BET you are pumping lincolns because you will be offering your set at the June LB show, correct? Pretty smart, aren't I?

  • Llloyd,

Stewart won't sell. He knows he missed the big wave. His big opportunity to cash out is gone. There's just no way he's gonna sell now.image
Heck, with all the Lincolns hitting the market, prices are sure to plummet. I would strongly advise Tom and Barry to just sit this one out until the dust settles. No need for any unnecessary financial exposure. As a financial guy yourself, you should know this. I'm sure you're not going to be buying anything in this very unstable market. All the big hitters should follow your lead and avoid wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars. Unfortunately, Stewart is going to have to wait a long long time to see Lincolns take off again. You know, if he sells right now he just might get in on the tail end...

You mean you guys are willing to NOT have a Lincoln cent collection that you could be proud of in 2009 to celebrate the centenial of our great Lincoln cent???

Please don't tell me that you would let M O N E Y or the prospect of losing some value appreciation get in the way of such a significant occassion. I, for one, will be VERY proud and happy to own my complete Lincoln cent business strike and proof set at that time. I have a hunch Stewart, Gerry and maybe most of you will be doing the same thing I'm doing. (ie) Hanging on. Steveimage

Ok here goes, I guess you really mean that you want us to display our favorite cents here.

In honor of my wife (gavelhead) who is the owner of this cent as I gave it to her 42nd birthday because I forgot to buy her a birthday present 8 years ago and needed an emergency present.

Her 50th birthday is now coming up and gavelhead did not want any more coins!!!!image

  • Slightly OT - Who is Bender in the Lincoln wheat registry? He's been rocketing up the rankings but has his set hidden. Curious minds need to know...

Bender? Just some crazy golfer! image

Oreville: I'm quite certain that if you let your wife sell that ugly penny [and use the proceeds as she wished] that she would happily accept coins in the future! image

Very well stated. I had a very similar thought.

Bender, he's just a wannabe! To top it off, he's kind of a jerk.image

Wouldn't it be easier to list the handful you do not have?
  • First time on this site, I will be listing my PCGS MS-64 Red 1922-D Weak-D Pop Top None higher only one up for Sale this May at the Central States Signature Sale on May 4-7 2005 in St Louis MO. I will also be listing a 1909 VDB MS-65 BN which is far from brown as it is Pure BLUE Obverse and a Purple Reverse. The 22-D can be seen on my NGC Registry site as PCGS won't accept it as a 22-D. The 1909 VDB can be viewed on my one coin per year regitry site at PCGS registry under "rabbitracks Red White and Blues. image

  • Mustangman7,

You're not a ghost. It's quite a trick to get Stewart to let go of any of his Lincolns, even his dupes. He is very passionate about the series and like a true collector will not easily give up any coin that he has picked for his collection. Been there,
