No heritgae to be found, was I too late? Are they not in the retail stores yet? You guys got me so excited last night, even with the lies, and BS, I wanted to grab a cheap box, bust some packs. I did see a left Bowman heritage for 19.99. Is that a "good deal"? Help please!

Oh yeah I hate Walmart by the way.

<< <i>I would think 19.99 is standard retail price on that one.

I had never even been into a walmart before last night.
<< <i>I believe retail hits the shelves on the 24th. Unless you are collecting the Bowman Heritage set, I do not think the Bowman Heritage is a good return on your money.

I made the mistake of buying a box a few months back. After I relooked at the contents, I share you thoughts. Got a Josh becket Throwback thread, game used bat, some black and white "first year" cards rookies I guess, and one mahogany Jerry Hairston JR. In the words of Alfred E. Newman BLEEECH

BigCrumbs! I made over $250 last year!
The cost of Topps Heritage will be 29.99 for 11 packs; if the same as last year - expect a good group of SP's - 1/pack! Unless they pimp us and make a change!
Good luck and Happy Hunting!

Aren't hobby boxes better than the retail boxes?
You guys are getting me hooked. I might raid a walmart soon now too.
So, is it 2005 Topps heritage or Bowman heritage. Which one is the "good" one? Is the retail box packed with more goodies than hobby? I hope they are sealed well, because they are search by dishonest customers.

Yes Toys r us should have Heritage - don't confuse the Bowman from Topps Heritage - should be out sometime next week - best to buy the sealed booster boxes where they give you 11 packs for 29.99.
The odds of pulling stuff is supposed to be better with the Hobby and there's no chance at a 1/1 auto in retail - then again I gotta better chance of being Queen of England!!
Good luck!

1967and 1973 Topps baseball wantlists (any condition) welcome. Once had the #14 ATF 1967 set. Yet another collector like skylaneflyer, gimel1 who made it to the completion of 1967 only to need the money more than the company of 609 close friends.
Looking for oddball Norm Cash and Cleon Jones stuff, and 1956 team cards
As a general rule, the early boxes always have the better high end cards in them vs the later boxes. By high end I mean autographs
and double bats/jerseys.
Walmart sells two kinds, the sealed 11 count boxes that Stone mentioned earlier. These cost the least per pack because one pack
is free. Better yet these can't be searched! WARNING: Always check for the topps wrapping around these. In the past people have
bought these, opened the packs and pilfered anything good, then re-wrapped them with a machine and returned them to the
store. If you aren't careful, you will buy this garbage. Always check for the topps logo on the wrapping!
They also sell by the pack, these are 24 count boxes that have 4 stacks of 6 packs each. Early boxes have been very friendly. If you find
boxes with 23 packs in it, it most likely has been searched. If you don't care about a GU then go ahead and buy it. To my knowledge
the autographs are VERY hard to feel...or course there are always jerks out there who could find a way.
Target usually shows up a bit later than walmart. Look for the same 11 count boxes for 30 bucks. Last year they look slightly different. Again
make sure topps is all over the wrap. Target also sells by the pack, in the form or two rows, of 12. These boxes are almost always loaded! If
you find a box take it and hide it in the store and just keep buying a few packs at a time. This stuff runs out quick and then you have nothing
to buy. Now if you can plop down 72 bucks plus tax, then just buy it all! I try to spread it out over a few paychecks.
TRU (aka toys r us). In the past they have offered one pack blister packs. back in 2001 these each yielded 6-8 short prints!!!!!! Thats
30-40 bucks worth of cards for 2.99!!! Needless to say the autographs were not in there, and I can honestly say that because I probably
bought at least 200 packs from just TRU! They should also have the 29.99 boxes too...but not for long.
In the past the retail packs have been loaded with short prints. The early target boxes (29.99) had sometimes between 30-35 sp per
11 packs!! I don't need to tell anyone here what a money maker that is! Whats better is it appears that the chrome odds were the same
and the high ends odds were better, as I pulled a dual Musial/Pujols jersey.I suggest buying one, hiding the rest then go out to the
car and see what is up. If its sp galore, then it might be worth a second mortgage...urrr I mean might be worth buying everything.
There will come a time in the future that boxes will dry up and guy who sat back watching now are hooked. If you are sitting on some of these
retail boxes at worse you will be able to get your money back. I know if I was a set collector I would even pay a bit more for a box
that yielded almost a 1/3 of a short print set!
I might also mention that once upon a time, Kmart had these, and I don't remember if anyone remembers but big K used to have 20% off
all their boxed cards...that meant a 19.99 box of 2001 heritage cost you just 16 bucks. Today those boxes get upwards of 75-85 bucks a pop!
Alright everyone. get out there and get em!!
