Guess the grade

For anyone that is interested, my latest Collector's Club free gradings were received by PSA today. Here's a link to scans of the raw cards.

I'd love to hear what other's think these will grade (and I'll post the results when I get them).

Bob,

So what makes the 76T Bench look like it's been trimmed? That's one of my favorite Bench cards... I'd be disappointed if PSA agrees with you.

I think the Bench looks fine also. Front looks like a tad bit tilted or diamond cut.
I'm thinking it's the back scan (top part) making it look a little jagged. Does the
card measure up? Other than that, looks good to me. Good luck Lyle.

Hi Lyle,

I guessed "evidence of trimming" on the Bench because in the scan the right border appears smaller on the bottom than the top but the left border appears the same top and bottom. Suggesting that the lower right edge may be trimmed or shaved.

Hopefully it comes back a 9 for you and what I'm seeing is just because of the scan.

Like I said I'm no expert, it was just a guess.

So, here's the scoop on the 76 T Bench. A few years ago when I was also a member, one of the "free grade" cards I submitted was this very card. It came back an 8. I thought it looked better than that, so cracked it out and re-submitted with a $5 special - probably 2 years ago. It came back "Evid of Trim", so I thought I'd try again as one of my freebies... maybe that makes a difference? I was very suprised that the first set of guesses also thought maybe it was trimmed.

My expecations are right in line with some of you guys, although I'm also looking through my "rose-colored" loupe!!

Here's what I'm hoping for: 6, 7, 9, 10, 9, 8. I've checked several times today to see if they were graded yet. I'd forgotten how much fun the excitement is waiting for grades to be posted.

Nope, not yet. Marked as received on the 16th, credit card charged on the 17th, so I'm thinking any day.

My grades posted today. I am a little disappointed because I really thought the Bonds Top Ten auto would come back a 10. I may have to try and re-submit that one.

The 71 Carlton surprised me, it sure didn't look good enough to be a 7. I guess I got taken on the 71 Bench - I'd purchased it raw from Ebay a while ago. I'll have to see how good my record keeping is to find out where I got it and for how much. The 76T Bench now has been graded 8 twice and Evid of Trim once.

I'm surprised too your Carlton got a 7. Hey, I got 4 out of 6 right. Well, the infamous
8 Bench came home again to an 8. From 8, evid of trim, to 8 again.....go figure.
I think it sucks on the re-colored non-holdered Bench. I guessed a 6 grade so it must
of been in really bad shape if they/whoever tried to recolor it.
