How to mail coins??????

Anyone know the cheapest and best way to mail coins. I never sent a coin to anyone so not sure what to do if I wanted to send one to someone. I know if there are a lot of them to just use a CD mailer or something like that, but what to use if there are just a few coins? How do you secure them with out putting a piece of tape across them? Use bubble wrap? Around here even CD mailers are not cheap. Is there some coin place that sells something for mailing coins? I was thinking of just using a regular envelope with a piece of cardboard inside with a coin in paper, taped to the cardboard. Any better ideals? What are you using?

USPS insured is a good way to go. For less valuable items a bubble mailer with the coin between cardboard works.

I put mine between cardboard and then into used bubble mailers and then into a new bubble mailer, when I have used ones. If not, I use a strip of bubblewrap instead of the used mailer!

I wouldn't send modern proof sets in bubble mailers, they crack to easy. Any office supply store will have five packs of white box mailers that work great for proof sets, and even after paying for the boxes are cheaper than using priority mail.

thanks millions for the tip on the postal message. I printed it out as I do with all the stuff everyone is so kind as to help out with. One of these days I'm going to write a book on coins and just use all the great answers I've picked up on this forum. I won't even have to write anything except the opening page which will just say how I cheated and printed out everything from here. Seriously, I have been printing out all this helpful information and have even sent some of it to friends telling them this is why they should get on this forum. Again, Thanks to all.
