The 1872-S Seated Quarter is rare

You'd think someone would'a bid on this Ebay auction.
I sent this guy an email telling him none of these were the 1872-S when he first put the auction on.
At least it looks like no one is going to bid and get burned.
The S mint quarter in the picture is an 1877, by the way.

  • Just a typo... It happens, I accidentally listed an 1872 Canadian 5 cent as an 1872 Canada 10 cent. About $900 difference in price. I had several bids on it. I hated to waste the money to cancel. I was going to leave it running with a HUGE addition to the description clarifying that it really was a 5 cent not a 10. I left it for a day that way before I looked it up to see the difference in price. Then I canceled the auction. Anyway, I'd give him about $9 for these coins...

Pretty obvious - don't think this is going to fool anyone.

The more interesting question is, did lathmach know it wasn't a 72-S before looking at the obverse image
  • Of course I did. The S was in the wrong place.
