I sold a coin on ebay, a WI-D upper leaf error. Here is the auction title "Rare Wisconsin Upper Leaf error BU from Original Roll
Rarest of the two varieties" Auction link
In the description I state: "The upper leaf is ~twice as rare as the lower leaf variety. This is a no reserve auction the highest bidder wins the actual coin pictured.I found these in an original roll. These are the most exciting errors in years and are turning out to be fairly rare. Althought there are a bunch on Ebay right now, they are not that common. I have heard estimates that there are approx. 1500 of the upper leaf errors known. Out of a mintage of hundreds of Millions that is rare.
Isee the "found these" may cause some confusion but the buyer calls me up today, very excited, that he won an ENTIRE ROLL of the the upper leafs. Obvioulsy I would not sell an entire roll, if I even had one for the price this auction closed at. I offered to cancel the aution but the buyer wants me to come up with a roll of these. What is going on here, was the auction not clear enough?

Quick story - once I sold a Mercury Dime RPM and had a picture of the coin in a cardboard 2x2. I also had a close-up of the mintmark showing the RPM. The high bidder complained that "the coin doesn't have that cool ridge of metal around it like the picture" - he thought the window of the 2x2 was part of the coin. He had no clue what "RPM" stood for, didn't care about "stuff you need a microscope to see" and refused to return the coin for a rafund (it was only $5). He left me a nasty feedback instead, that I sold him "a used car". That's why I say RUN, don't walk, away from this one.
Good luck,

MSN from WI. Usually I only sell certified coins so I get to deal with people who actually know coins and I am not use to having to explain what is meant. I guees this comes with the territory when a bunch of non coin people get into the hobby. I want the auction cancelled, it is not worth the hassle, besides the coin is very nice and would probably go MS65 and would be worth more in a holder.

Marginally? Hey Russ, bite me!
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
Reading and comprehension skills are an important part of functioning in society ( and so are writing skills ).
You say the highest bidder wins the actual coin pictured certainly seems to convey a singular coin is being offered.
The title also refers to a singular error BU as does the word from Original Roll.
But where you got confusing is when you started to reference these as I found these in an original roll. These are the most exciting errors which is plural.
I would explain to drgamble that if a doctor was removing a kidney (the actual kidney in the xray) from a patient but instead removed those kidneys (plural) from the patient he would kill them.
So reading comprehension is important - even on eBay.

I'd say you did OK...
Your auction is very clear to me. Canceling his bid is more than generous of you!
And........
....... as soon as I figure out what it is, I will be more than happy to share it with you guys.
<< <i>Oh, and I remember your thread about "Oh my. I think I have buyer's remorse. I bough a roll of these for <don't remember what it was>."

yeah, I rolled the dice and won. SOmetimes you are the ball sometimes the bat. Even in that auction I knew it was not an entire roll LOL.
Just contact the underbidder and offer it to them at their high bid (second chance offer)
If you re-list leave out the "from Original roll" in the title and put "1 coin".
Give him one more try then offer to the next higher bidder at his last bid.
