Why am I not selling on eBay?

I think I could stand to make a couple of bucks with it.

So start selling some nice German stuff, like that coin in your sig line image
  • She will never be for sale. But I've seen some toned Canadian dollars collecting dust in a local coin store... and the last time I sold those toners I did well.

Anyone remember my 'Silent Auction' last year?

Phil, with your imaging skills your auctions would be very well IMO. Toned Canadian Dollars? If you list them LMK.

  • Don't you need a credit card to sell on eBay, Mr. Arnold? I remember you saying on the Open Forum that you were without a card image

  • Phil,

you can do that, but remember, ebay is not the most expensive market, quite the opposite I'd say, most people are looking for bargains. So , you really need to have a low cost on your coins, or coins you already have but no longer need, excellent photos , and good grades if the material is graded. If it's not, expect it to "roll over and die" as JamminJ so eloquently puts it, but there are exceptions, such as cased Canadian dollars and various sets I guess. Toning will be a big plus, one or two flashy pieces per group of coins and you're on. Feedback will build up. image

Oh, and if you ever need some help with the photos, you know where to find me. image

Some of my coins don't even have the energy to roll over before dying. image

Selling raw on e-bay is a tough way to try to make a buck. Try to pick stuff that is somehow "unique" and will stand out among the rest of the offerings there. Toning is definitely a plus.

  • Well that's what I was thinking of doing, only selling coins that have a certain character. Selling something common doesn't really interest me.
