New purchase - tough half dime

I won this in Heritage Auction last night. We'll see if it looks this good in hand. Only 70,000 minted. Only 32 in all grades by PCGS and less than that at NGC. This will be going to PCGS for crossover. On average, only 3 a year come up in Heritage Auctions. I didn't check anywhere else. Either way, with those pop reports, this is one rare puppy certified.

Nice original coin, and very underappreciated for rarity. Here are a couple "No Stars" coins that I just recently picked up. Both were dipped years ago and retoned in a Wayte Raymond album. The 1837 is very common, unlike its New Orleans counterpart.

You just gotta love something nice and original like that, with such a miniscule mintage. How many can be rattling around out there that look like that. Just a hand-full, I would think...
