Ever See an NGC Star Slab the Didn't Deserve the Star?

This is sort of an offshoot to the "gradeflation thread" I commented about how I usually see beautiful toners or semiprooflike coins in NGC star slabs. Anyone ever see a star slab and think "man, how'd that get the star??" ?

Yes, lots of them. Like numerical grading, the star designation is subjective in nature.

Apropos of the coin posse/aka caca: "The longer he spoke of his honor, the tighter I held to my purse."
But sure, I'll bet most if not all have seen * coins that make you wonder what the grader saw that you didn't.

1971-S 5c with Ultra Cameo obverse and not even a hint of cameo on the reverse. Coins like that ususally get a PR6x* w/o any designation.
The star becomes less subjective in semi-modern proofs.
