You might try some of the silver bullion coins from that year.
If you are interested in ideas, you might want to coordinate your collection with whatever you are studying in social studies.
Hmm. You would be turning 12 this year, I guess. That would have put me in seventh or eighth grade. Seventh grade, here in New York, back in 1966-67, would be Civics; not good for the foreign coin collector. Eighth grade, however, would have been European history. That would be a rich field to hoe!
