Finally got my grades from a Dec. submission... and the second half today

Well, they went down to the last day of the guarantee, but they are finally in. Not all of them, only half... because the order was broken up because some cards were oversized. Overall, I'm pretty thrilled (although some of you will wonder why with all the 1's, but I knew they would be before I even mailed them). The 10's on the 1961 Chemstrand patches are pretty sweet, those things are hard to find. But the real winner, which PSA listed as a single card order was a 1962 Topps Bucks Rocky Colavito which graded a 9, making it the first ever 1962 Topps bucks of every one submitted to receive a 9.

  • I don't think I'd have a problem with some 1s or 2s for some of those. Nice submission if you ask me.
Wouldn't happen to have a chemstrand Mays?

  • didnt you have a bunch of bond bread robinsons? Did you grade those too?

I do have several Bond Bread Robinson cards... one is in this order and it received a 4. Due to the scrutiny I received when I posted about them originally, I decided to not only have PSA grade one, but I also had one graded by GAI, it too came back as a 4, and was graded by Mike Baker while I watched him examine it. The rest are all lower grade (1-3), and for the moment, I have kept them raw. I will probably have GAI grade them next time they are in town for a show next month, as it is convenient, and they only charge $6 compared to PSA's $12-15, unless PSA was to run a better special.

If you are interested in one of them, I would consider trading one if I could get the right deal, otherwise, I'm probably going to list one of the 4's on eBay eventually (unless I receive an offer I can't refuse).
  • Congrats on that 9. That's awesome!
  • they went down to the last day of the guarantee

There's a guarantee? Didn't know that. How many days?
  • A761506A761506 Posts: 1,309 ✭✭✭
I sent them in under economy service in 2004 when it still existed, so they have a 30 business day guarantee which they honored on the 30th business day. They entered the other half of my order two days later (which makes no sense because both submissions were sent to PSA in the same box) and those grades will likely not be available until Thursday, which would mark the 30th business day for them.
  • Ah, I misread the title.
    Thought it was Dec. special.

Well, they were a day before the deadline, but they arrived today... anyone have any idea how much that Gordie Howe would be worth? It's the only 10 out of only 8 Howe's graded, and only the second 10 of the 1961 Sherriff/Salada issue?

  • I didn't see the 1962 Topps Baseball Bucks PSA 9 of Rocky Colavito in any of your three orders. Anyway, these came folded in the gum packs, so perhaps yours was never folded or the fold was somehow flattened into disappearance.

The Colavito Buck is on a separate order for some reason... 4229930

It had the fold, and I didn't think it was spectacularly light or anything... I don't think they consider the fold much unless it's jacked. Those things are near impossible to find centered, most are bad miscuts or horrible tilts, and this one is centered quite well on both sides and had sharp corners.
