Have you seen the 2005 Canadian Specimen set?

I bought one today at the Canadian post office, so I don't have to pay the shipping cost! It has the "tufted puffin" dollar coin...my favorite bird! I now have
2 Canadian puffin coins, and the 2 Lundy puffin coins image

HERE'S THE URL for the specimen set. I tried taking a photo of it myself, but the one at
the Royal Canadian Mint site is much better.

What is the other Canadian puffin? I purchased the specimen set just because of the puffin. My boss likes puffins, so I try to give her something along that line for her birthday.

  • The other Canadian puffin is the 1999 $100 Coin, struck in Proof 14K Gold to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Newfoundland's entrance into Canadian Confederation. It's my only gold coin. Here are photos of the obverse and reverse:

Thanks. Too good for my boss, but I may get one for myself, if I come across it!
