to grade or not to grade

that is the question:
I just picked up a big lot of vintage stars from 50's, 60's, & 70's. Avg is Vg/Ex in my opinion. I have pulled a couple of highlights.
1959 topps Hank Aaron
1959 topps musial
1980 opc gretzky
1958 topps ted williams
1952 topps mize
1961 koufax
1956 topps feller
1964 topps rose
1952 bowman small bough
1953 bowman graham
1957 topps starr
1958 topps jim brown
Any my question is If I think I am getting between 3's-6's for these am I better getting graded or selling raw on ebay?
My ebay store IS CLOSED TEMPORARILY

If you thought they had a good chance of an 8 or higher grade ya grade them but you don't. In my experiance selling PSA 7 or lower cards go for more if sold raw.

  • For the money cards might want to grade those. At least you wouldn't have to worry about someone attempting to return or complain about the card as much, if it's graded. Just wait for a PSA grading special that works for you and then send in a lot of them. You will probably recoup the grading cost, but not much more. And if some idiot thinks you mean EX when you say VG, you could be losing money.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!

I've gotten many good deals on ebay for vintage cards that I didn't expect to get 8 or higher...if you look for those you might find one ebay steal a year. In any case, I've had many of these cards graded 4, 5 or 6, and then sold them again on ebay for profit. Just see what these lower grades average for on ebay before buying raw cards.
