There are several doubled 5's in 1885. VAM-10 most likely.

There are at least nine different VAMs where the 5 is doubled. Is the 5 the only number doubled? Is there a short horizontal "dash" under the second 8?

No dash under the second 8, only the 5 is recut showing only at the top.

That means your coin is either VAM 10, 11, 12, 13, or 14. All are rated as I-2 (I stands for interest level, the scale is 1-5) and R-3 (R stands for rarity, the scale is 1-8). Translation: Interesting coin but common enough that there isn't a whole lot of collector interest.

Based upon the distance between the "top" 5 and the "under" 5, I tend to agree with Jack that your coin is a VAM 10.
