1935 Mickey Cochrane Psa 8 Double SMR

WOW! Seems a bit high for a card that's slightly off-center. The market for vintage baseball is growing and becoming very competitive.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5163774769&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

Once the bidder that wins this one starts on a set I back off for a few months- there is no way he's not going to get a card he's after. I figure the next 3 months are a good time to sell Diamond Stars, and a horrible time to buy them!

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

I wish the guy was doing the 32US Caramel set - 3 grand? If I sold this card for that kind of money and people asked: "so Stone, what are you going to do with the money?" reply: "I'm going to freakin Disney World!!!"

  • Welcome to pre-war. 99% of the cards in shoeboxes have been found, and deep pockets as well as not so deep pockets are coming into the game. I've noticed some dealers are actually advertising buying ANY graded pre-war cards regardless of grade. It will continue to escalate. Little supply, quickly growing demand. There is very little buy and flip for a buck in pre-war. Most are buy and hold since it takes years to build a set. Retired baby boomers with money to burn as well as it really being the best place to put your money in cards today are increasing demand as well. Start watching the sport kings. They rarely go for less than 150% of SMR at the 5 level and its usually 200%+ all day long. Doesn't amtter if its a $100 card or a $750 card, same percentages. No wonder Levi @ 707 is buying pre-war at full SMR.

  • The card is really sharp. I not too shocked at the price, but I agree someone is on a mission to fill that set probably. Interesting that the seller doesn't take paypal. It's one thing to click some buttons and give someone $3,000++, quite another to actually get a cashiers check for the same amount.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!
