Do you suppose there will be special coin designs for the year 2026?

2026 will be the 250th anniversary of the country. I'm not sure what that's called... But anyway, do you think that we'll have specially designed coins to commemorate the occasion?

While we're on the subject, does anyone know why there were no special coins commemorating the centennial in 1876? Or were there?

It is likely but don't forget we completely ignored the 500th anniversary of Columbus's voyage
in 1992 and the 225th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2001.

Oops. Of course you're right. It wasn't ignored by the mint but was widely ignored otherwise.
