Could you say yes to any of the following?
1) British coins you'd like to show off? (or other US/world coins... i'll deal with these shortly)
2) Like a fun competition?
3) Like the thought of possibly winning a prize?
Well if that has intrigued you then you might like to know that over at Coinpeople forums, i run a competition called the Popular Coin Idol. This is where forumees on that forum (or even guest forumees who don't participate on that forum but fancy entering anyhow), can enter their coins (pictures of coins that is not the actual coin in it's metal form), into an entry thread.
I then stick all the entries into groups and pairs. On coinpeople i then through a sucession of rounds put each coin through in a group of two with another coin and we vote for our favourite out of the two that we'd like to go through to the next round. Each round progresses with fewer and fewer coins until we get to the winner and the winner gets a prize.
There are two Popular Coin Idol (PCI) competitions now.
1) US and world PCI competition (soon to begin entries for season 4)
2) The British PCUI competition (a new break off from the old PCI competition which is soon to start taking entries)
If anyone likes the sound of this we require two things;
1) You get a free account here;
Omnicoin
where you can store pictures of your collection, this ruling has just been introduced to make the competition fairer as it keeps all the pictures entered the same size specs. Aiding both dialer uppers like myself and to ensure that only one url code has to be entered rather than two.
2) That you preferably join up here
Coinpeople
Helps you keep an eye on your coin's progress but furthermore it aids your coin further because if you're a member you can vote for your own coin.
I'll accept non-member entries if you post the pictures on here but you won't be able to vote for your own coins.
Any interested parties are most welcome.
If you are interested in the general PCI or want to see some of the previous competitions to see how it works then see here (this will be now run by Stujoe the site owner who is taking over from me);
Popular Coin Idol
If you want to enter British coins then see here under the British section of the forums; (this will be run by myself)
British Popular Coin Idol
All entries gladly recieved.
