Magic cards?

I hope I spelt it right...Does anyone even play that anymore? My husband and I played 10 years ago, and haven't touched them since...I have a whole shoe box full...don't know what to do with them....

    Yes, there are still a lot of people that play Magic. Next town over there is a hugh market for Magic
    cards. They have games every Saturday afternoon too. See about spending a few dollars and get
    a price guide, check out what you have, and then just eBay them, or post them here. You might
    find someone that is looking for something you have.

    Hopefully you don't have any serious rare ones sitting around in a shoe box. A friend of mine just sold a Black Lotus Alpha for over a grand.

    no image!!! I don't even know what I have anymore...like I said, we started playing about 10 years ago, played for a couple of months with some friends, and then packed them all away... I know we have tons, though, and off load some of them soon.

    okay...I've already typed in 323, and I'm not even 1/2 done...How do I know what's good and what's crap, besides tracking down a price guide...??? I'll just keep typing them in and post a list when I'm through...maybe someone will be interested...Hey, how 'bout star treck cards, got a few of them laying around too....

    Without a price guide, going to be a lot of work for someone to go through a list like that and try to pick out the gems.

    Your best bet is to pick up a Scrye price guide and see what you have.

    The only Magic cards of real value, from my understanding, are the early releases commonly known as Alpha and Beta.

    Both of these sets have black borders around them as opposed to the unlimited release that has white borders.

    If your cards are in good condition and have black borders (around the picture and text of the card) then you may be sitting on some valuable items.

    If the cards are worn with white borders then they probably aren't worth much.

    Thanks...I do have many that have the black boarder...all of them are copywrited 1994 and 1995... I started listing them last night to see what I exactly have. I'm up to 653, and only 1/3 done... Going to try to get all of them by the weekend, so that maybe, I'll just sell all of them together.

    Hello,

    I am a big collector of Magic cards and let me tell you, they are still quite popular and some are indeed very valuable. If the copyright date is 1994 or 1995 you won't have any of the Alphas or Betas; they will most likely be from Antiqities, Legends, The Dark, Fallen Empires, or Ice Ages. If in good condition some of these cards can be sellable. In addition, your white - bordered cards could be good too, depending on which ones they are. Once you have a list it will be easier to give you a more accurate answer image

    plz post ur list before u sell your cards - i played MTG for years before just recently stopping ( about 3 years ago) since the last time i played many cards from teh early series have skyrocketed - as was mentioned they dont have to be from alpha/beta to be worth something (perfect example is teh legends edition mana drain which is currently selling from around $100ea) do ur reseach on ebay and post a list here - if i can be of any assistance PM me or post here - dont want to see someone sell a small fortune for $20
