fugio cent questions.

I know they are graded differently from regular coins - but for the life of me can't remember how that works. All I can remember is somone (from the forums) once telling me that PCGS and NGC grading of them is nearly irrelevant because colonials arent graded the same.

Is this correct or am I missing something?

How is one to figure out what they should cost

and where does one look to purchase one?

Any other source of general to detailed info on these coins would also be appreciated.

  • At PCGS and NGC, Fugios are graded much the same way that each firm grades early copper half cents and cents - and the same is more or less true for all colonials.

Which is to say that, although it is not a different system than is used to grade more modern coins, the grades applied to these older copper coins seems very liberal by traditional grading standards.

I'd search the archives here for old colonial posts as a lot of this has been discussed to good effect.
