Opinions on the toning of the 1883 PCGS-66 Morgan? Is this NT?

It looks cool but I wouldn't have thought it NT. Need some expert opinions.....

Cool....2 sided bag toning. Now that coin is going to sell for a lot.

VamCollector, my guess is that the toning, while original, is probably darker and/or less florescent in person. Many of the sellers' images appear to be shot under lighting which makes coins appear to be brighter/lighter than they actually are.

Ditto for images by some other auction companies, too. And then there are still others whose images make the coins look darker than they truly are.

    20% Commission, ouch

The 20% commish should only be via the ebay route. 15% otherwise. Goldberg does tend to underestimate their consignments. That entices the potential buyers to think a coin has slipped by them and they just might pick it up on the cheap. Never happens tough.

It also allows them to market the idea that their prices realized were far in excess of estimates, to future potential consignors.image
  • I had that one on my watch list, and thought yeah, I guess I'll go 5 to 7 on that. So, don't anyone else bid, OK?

My guess, $1500, but over $2000 might happen.

For a double sided rainbow with good band separation on both sides, I think even $2000 would be a bit conservative in this market.

Oh, and the coin is 100% natural.
