Challenge on 1943/44 overdate Lincoln Cent...UPDATE!!!

okie dokie. I did my part. I sent the coins to PCGS and got them graded and they are on their way back.

The deal that myself and ozzysdad had was that I would pay up front to send them to PCGS and if they didn't come back as overdates, then he would re-imburse me and then post in the forum at least once a day for ten years.

That was the deal.

The submission number was 3136201.

Sorry Mr. O'sdad but it looks like they are just regular ole 44's. Please PM me or post here.

  • y'know, it's a cryin shame, really. They go and create a pcgs number for the new wisconsin extra leafs, one for each!, but they can't come up with one for this new variety. Wonder what they would call it if they did?

  • Where is ozzysdad?
Was he not to post here each and every day for the next 10 years?
Will he not own up to the fact that the lincoln was just an ordinary lincoln now that it has been seen by a TPG of great magnitude?
Will we not hear from the ozzysdad?

Ozzysdad you should have sent it to PCI, I just had a dealer tell me of the 1942/3 Lincoln cent they
authenicated and slabbed, it brought over 500.00 on ebay, and this dealer said he saw it and it
    was real.
Anyone else hear about this, and can you do a search for an old over 30 day auction on ebay?

  • Is that dealer still hanging onto your leg? Let's see, it wouldn't have gone to PCI, it would have gotten many, many thousands at auction, it would not have gone to auction on ebay, it would have been all over the numismatic world at discovery not long after the sale, heck as we've seen it would have made mainstream media, I'll think of more.

No really someone in my area supposivly got pci to slab it,
    and it sold on ebay.
Have you seen some of the thing PCI slabbs, i've seen plenty of
error that aren't errors including 1969-S DD which was ejection doubling
    and others.
I just wanna see if there is anyway to check older auctions on ebay, cause this guy
was dead serious, even when I told him such and item would be like you said an
    amazing front page discovery.
