Mike Schmidt Website

As I was doing a search for a picture of the 82 FBI Nolan Ryan disc I came across a picture of the Mike Schmidt . I don't have any idea who it is but I did navigate it for a few minutes and now going back.
looks nice just wish the pictures of the cards themselves was a little bigger. does anybody have any idea how much something like this would cost?

    Hi jackstraw...

Here is a picture of a complete box with Ryan and Mayberry on the bottom of it. Unfortunately I do not own this. You may be able to get a Ryan disc by itself for $500.00 depending on the condition, if you can find one. As far as a complete box or panel goes the two times I had the opportunity to buy one, (but did not have the money) image one person wanted $850 and the other person wanted $750 for the one pictured below with all the grape stains on it. A clean one may fetch $1000. Who knows....

  • I didn't see the 1980 Pepsi listed on his website, I'd consider that his rarest card. Cool nevertheless.

I think I got lucky and purchased my Schmidt FBI Disc for about $120 or so - it was already cut, and not the complete box panel. It eventually graded out at PSA 2....

With only one example ever issued, hand cut from the sheet shown to Pepsi - is it even worthwhile to consider it a card? I only know of a single collector who owns a single example from the 1980 Pepsi issue.

Obviously it is a card - but why call it his rarest card, as you could almost argue the same for any other proof or non-issued card he has ever had. Just playing devil's advocate to some extent. Just because it has a listing in the Big Book doesn't automatically qualify it as something that truly is what I consider a card, as issud and generally considered.

I got very lucky and picked up a NRMT Carew (w/ D. Henderson) box for $40.
But that was 16 years ago!
