  • Hey soccerman. I've had the Gold membership for several years and have found it useful. often they offer specials on grading that is only available for Platinum or Gold membership folks. just my thoughts.image
  • I have the Gold Membership and am quite happy with it. I like the monthly specials, also.

    Hey-

I just purchased my gold membership the end of January and joined these boards this weekend and I am having a blast with it all so far!

  • Why go gold if your planning on submitting for more than a year?

IMO the platinum membership is the way to go.

  • Based on the money situation, I'd say go for the gold because then you'd have money to get cards.

  • I bought gold and definitely think it was worth it. Don't know how often I'll submit cards but I use the SMR and Population Report daily and am having fun with the Set Registry as well.

I have the platinum membership and love it. Keep in mind that PSA is cracking down on accepting submissions from non-members for anything less than the $10 price level.

  • PSA accepts cards from non-members?? I thought you had to be a member to submit any cards??

You can submit as a non-memeber but it can only be at the $10 level and above. I was at the Sun Times show in Chicago last Nov and my friend and I submitted cards at the same time - I'm a member and he's not. He tried submitting under the $5 special and they wouldn't let him. They allowed him to submit under my member number and told him that they won't allow non-members to submit under any of the specials.

I think the offical policy is that non-members can't submit but in practice they are allowed to but can't access any of the member specials.

Why didnt he just give you the cards to submit? They used your number anyway?

I told him to submit the cards with my order but he is very stubborn and wanted to submit his own order. I told him that it was stupid - because he and I could split the return shipping fee. We've been friends for over 25 years and I've given up trying to argue w/ him over seemingly illogical decisions such as this.

The PSA rep didn't mind submitting his cards under my member number. She probably figured it's the same as him submitting his cards on my order.

  • PSA wants everyone to have their own account. I use to submit cards for other people under my PSA account and on my order. However, my buddy would start whining about which service level to use, when to get them back, etc. So now I just do my own thing. If you want it done right, do it yourself.

I couldn't agree w/ you more. However, I have shared bulk submissions w/ other board members and it has worked out nicely.
