What I don't Understand is how they get the feilds of the coin Black. The first shot is close but this is using a flash, as you can see on the hat.

Experiment with different lights, and more lights ... try from both sides together and add another overhead. It can be done, but it's tricky sometimes.

You may want to search the coin forums for posts about lighting and coin photography. Lots of suggestions are out there.

Thanks! Also another thing , its in a plastic circular case and I know this isn't helping. I would rather not take it out of the case just for pics so I guess the best Imma get is the ones above.

Disable your flash and use an adjustable light platform or even difused light until you get the field you want.

Great Pictures, proofs are always difficult for me to catch "just so".
