1876-CC Seated Quarter found

Hello all!

I stopped by a friends house to visit and he got out his old coins, because he knew of my interest in them.
We decided to look up the PCGS price guide as a reference to what he had. In a small bag was an 1876-CC Seated Quarter mixed with other odds and ends of Us coinage. After seeing the value of the coin we were both shocked!
Is the value listed on the price guide close to what is listed/ I'd say the coin is mid grade VG, but I'm no expert.

I am unable to upload images from his computer, but I will update with pics when I get home this afternoon.

He has no ties to this coin and is going to sell. Have'nt decided on an auction venue or not but it will sell.

Any comments on this find would be appreciated.

John

$30 coin or so. Are you looking at the 76cc twenty cent price?

Back it up a couple of years and you would have been in to some money? 70-cc thru 73-cc
