I was talking with a friend today about exactly that, and I agree, it's the Barber. The WL's, Buffs, SLQ, all look terrible in grades below 45, IMO, but the Barber looks pretty good at that grade. I think I'll start a set of halves in 45-50.

Barber halves of course! Actually, any old silver coin that is left unmolested and picks up that antique silver, two tone look is aces in my book. My absolute favorite look is the mocha album toning that turns coins light/dark brown mocha colored. The coin board touching the coin creates a pastel shading effect that is just awesome...like this one.



Here is a Barber half worn down to a technical VG grade (with Fine details) that to me still looks like a piece of art. For the Barber halves, as long as they have the full laurel wreath they are still majestic looking.
