ebay question

Ive seen many wax boxes and packs on ebay that i would like to buy. I know there are A+ dealers out there like bbcexchange etc but wanted to try some guys on ebay. Maybe one of those auctions where they sell 2-3 packs. Not going to buy cases of wax from someone i dont know. So, the question is: If I find that the packs have been resealed is there any recourse i could take with paypal/ebay to get my money back. Afterall how can i prove such a thing? Just wondering before i buy a FEW packs.

I don't know how you can tell if they have been resealed. Just because you don't get anything in a pack doesn't mean the pack has been resealed, so how will you tell?

There are a lot of reputable dealers on ebay but a lot who aren't. Search "guaranteed" on eBay and you'll find hundreds of listings for guaranteed auto's or game used packs. How do they know? Probably by feel or by weight. Either way, buying a few packs here and there is throwing away good money, because I would be surprised if you pulled anything worth a damn.

If you're not buying factory sealed, I don't know how you can be sure unless you know for sure who you're dealing with.

If you go to the BBCKid, he has a really nice booklet that will give you some info on packs and what to look for with respect to "wax."
In general, after buying for almost 20 yrs., I trust very few people. A box out of a sealed case is your best bet IMO.
Single packs from guys on ebay is a genuine crap shoot. Just don't think it's a good idea. But this is just my opinion.
I still have wax that goes back to 76 and if I wanted to sell individual packs, I would probably send them to GAI - just so people would feel better about what I am selling.

  • Thanks stone and bigred.

I already bought the book from the baseball kid. Good book.
I know its a crap shoot i was just wondering if anyone actually ran across resealed packs and tried to get there money back (if ya could even prove it)
Best to stick to the well known guys thats for sure.

Worst experience was back in 94, bought 10 51T Red back packs - opened them and they were obviously cards that were not fresh - dirty/worn corners etc. Had purchased them from a reputable source - back when Rotman auctions (now on ebay) had a retail section. I paid 40$/pack - they made a 100% refund.
