    Very impressive MadMarty.

However, I would really, really, really, really, really..................really be impressed if you would find and post a picture of a CAMDCAM Proof Lincoln from the years 1936-1942 and 1950-1959 and/or a CAMDCAM SMS Lincoln from the years 1965-1967 that looks like your 1971.
  • WOW !!!! I wish i had that for my Registry set. My current one is a PR68CAM.
Maybe i'll be able to 'make one' like yours someday image

Congrats' Marty on a nice score ! image

    Muy bueno Jeffe.

Now I am really, really, really, really, really.............. impressed. In fact I am so impressed that I started another thread asking for pictures of CAMDCAM Lincolns to toast you and your 1971. No replies yet, but time will tell. If enough forumites get the picture posting bug, we may have a nice virtual collection of CAMDCAM Lincolns by tomorrow, all in your honor.

    Have a great weekend.

Marty, have you made enough money yet to retire with all of this modern crap? image
My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable !
  • Nice coin! It sure looks DCAM from here...
  • THAT AINT THE STANDARD FOR A 57 !

  • Guys, I think this post was a bit tongue-in-cheek, i.e. this one should have been a DCAM, not a CAM. Hence the reference to the purported "cameo standard," which, according to the 1960s and 70s cameo proof crew, is anything but "standard."

Perhaps I'm reading too much into it. On the other hand, perhaps this coin needs to go back for review.

Nope, you got it right. The coin is a DCAM, and Marty got bent over.

  • and Marty got bent over.

Send it in for review. Heck, I'll front the $20 just to see if you can get it in a DCAM holder. It'll be educational for all of us.

I once bought a 1964 PCGS PR67DCAM Kennedy. It was graded 67 because of a large spot on the upper reverse. Cracked it out and sent it to NCS and it came back not conserved because they said they couldn't remove the spot.

Sent it back to PCGS figuring I'd at least get it back in a DCAM holder. Came back PR68CAM. Cracked it out and sent it back to NCS asking them to at least try and reduce the spot. Came back with the spot reduced, but still there.

Sent it back to PCGS. This time, it graded PR69CAM.

  • Yeah, that sounds about right. How can that 71 Lincoln not DCAM????? I don't get it. I have a 44 coin order in right now...mostly 1964-67 Kennedy's. Some DCAM's I think.....can hardly wait for the results on that one : (

I posted this in the other thread, but here it is again for good measure. Believe it or not, I have 2 1942's that are nearly identical.

Countdown to completion of my Mercury Set: 1 coin. My growing Lincoln Set: Finally completed!
  • Guess the Mad One's enjoying filet mingon and a fine pinot this Friday eve. Raining (edited: poring and flooding) here in southern cali. I hope he takes up my offer for the pres. review; I'd like to see the response to learn why that coin didn't have enough testosterone for the designation.
