Why are there no good coins on ebay lately?

Is it my imagination, or are there few good coins for purchase on ebay? Plenty of common date stuff but no interesting dates in 2 1/2 or 10 dollar libs, certified by better TPG. Anything special out there, that isn't 5K or more?

There's some good stuff but not a whole lot of it. You really have to do some sifting lately. It's not your imagination!
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Are there pictures?
Are there good, detailed pictures?
Is the seller trying to gouge me on the back end with S&H and insurance?
Has the coin been played with or otherwise abused or questionable?
Is the coin over priced to begin with?
Does the seller respond to email questions?
Does the seller have questionable feedback recently?
Does the seller have enough feedback?
And probably a few more. . . By the time I get through all of that, there isn't much in my watch list.

I am tired of seeing the cleaned, whizzed offerings of "ernie", too. He has great dates, but you look at the pics, and say, "why did I bother, I knew it would be crap"
I want to see some 1903-s morgans in xf 45 that are the real deal...

In other words, nothing interesting to *you*. I've picked up a couple nifty things in the past couple weeks, and am gearing up to fight braddick for another coin.

Ditto.
Let us know what that looks like russ, as soon as you get it

Already got it in. Let's just say that things don't always work out as well as we hope.

Btw: That was the only decent thing I had seen in some time. Lately it's just seemed to be spam on ebay.

Is the market growing and sucking the good coins out?

That's not the one you posted about being the bug on the windshield is it?
OW!
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
As well as low mark up items (right now I have a TON of pcgs ms/64 Morgans that will NEVER see Ebay) because as soon as you hit $50 on a starting price, the listing fees jump up, and that fee eats too far into any potential profit, which on coins like that doesn't make any sense.
Unless I have a two week lull in coin shows, my Ebay offerings have been limited, in comparison to the amount of material I've been selling total. I recently had a conversation with a larger wholesale dealer who has been tossing around the idea of Ebay for quite some time, and finally did some research on the subject to break down the numbers (fees etc.) and he started laughing when the subject came up. After they looked at the fees, and the addition of really having to use Paypal, it wasn't worth it for him to start. I think you are going to see more of this sort of thing in the future as well.
The assortment of listings is going to change and move towads the lower and higher end of the spectrum with that popular $50-$500 range becoming more and more limited. The fees really work against you on those items, unless you absolutely ripped something somewhere.

with all that said, there are still some big coins listed. just last night i noticed that there are two PCGS holdered 1971-S Jeffersons graded PR69DCAM. at less than 30 in the pop report, that's odd since they rarely ever show up. i think things will loosen up by early March as tension eases and the "Big Dump" continues.

I'm not a bloody bloodhound- I'm a scottie---aroooooooo!
I will admit I also have been finding little - perhaps 5-10 items per week that are worth watching of which I may end up bidding on just 2 or 3......but I probably spend 30 minutes to an hour per day doing my searches....so ending up with 10 items per week and spending 4-8 hours per week shows just how little I'm finding! But everyonce in a while, its all worth it as one finds a true gem....
If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!
Let's face it,at least as for quality coins, EBAy has turned into a sellers market, like it or not.
Em... because they all grade VG and higher or AG and lower?
