Okay, I'm the new guy but you got me hooked. Just picked up two hobby boxes of 05 Heritage from a reputable dealer on ebay for $119.00. Good deal, average, poor? Want to know if anyone knows if the release date is still February 16th or has it been delayed a week? Thanks for the help.

the 16th as the release date. This is important because heritage will be competing with donruss diamond kings which is in the
same price range. The more collectors who get hooked the better it will be to trade and then sell if you have to do that.
right now DK is releasing a week after heritage which should give this product some breathing room.

Well it is obvious that Heritage 05 will fly off those retail shelves. I would think that when a distributor oversells the product it means that demand is stronger than expected

i say lets wait until Kuhlman lets us know that he's shipped them out, and then lets decide on a day/time to post all the results here..
i'm getting excited too.. i hardly ever buy any wax.. last years heritage was the last time i opened any kind of wax box..

I can't believe a year has past since this stuff came out! I didn't even buy Topps base brand this year - I usually buy a bunch since it's so cheap. This year I want to be able to buy Heritage without the distraction of another modern set!
I would like a THC Black Bonds please!

I didn't realize that you were talking about Diamond Kings for a second and I saw Ryan's name on the list. Only 12 more years until Topps Heritage gets to the 1968 design!
On a side note, I was able to pick up an 03 Bonds Refractor on Naxcom for $10. I was really surprised - it usually sells for about $30 or $40 on the bay. My first refractor from that set, but what a way to start off! I just hope I didn't use up all my heritage luck for the month.

DK is more of a lottery type product, but I have to admit that is a great price Chris is giving everyone. These boxes were over 100
2 weeks into the release. Granted the 1/1's arn't really true 1/1's but variations, still might be worth a shot. The thing about heritage
is that all the card are valuable. People put together sets and look for the base cards, you will pull 2 maybe 3 decent cards out of
DK and most likely you will pull a few GU of common players.
If I get in a better financial state I might buy some DK too off Chris, you can't beat that price.

No. The distributors I have contacted have only asked for a resale license and business license, both of which are available pretty easily (although with most government paperwork, was unnecessarily tedious). It is a violation of the law, however, to buy cards wholesale and sales tax free without the intent of resaling them.
OK, but my understanding is in order to go directly to the card company, let's say Upper Deck or Topps, they require a proof of a store front, so you probably are paying extra to go through a "middle man" distributor.
