How bout another Forum for eBay posts??????

Would PCGS consider making another message board/forum for "online auction" posts? It would save the U.S. Coin Forum from filling up with eBay compaints. If I had an eBay complaint to make, I would probably make it here as well because there is nowhere else to put it! As of this writing, I think 6 or 7 out of the 20 on the front page are about eBay fraud or bad experiences.

Just a thought...

I'm still somewhat new here but I kind of like the heads up about eBay coin selling (or sometimes buying) scumbags. The Chinese ones are also funny as hell.

The real power in the forum I've seen is when forum members do sleuth work to uncover a scammers shill method or true identity and shut them down or at least expose them. A couple of issues of CW ago, they even had an article about coin forum members ganging up on scammers with positive results.

Sure some gripe about a transaction prematurely, but most are helpful in my opinion.

it's a good idea and would divert much of what's here to a single location.

Don't forget the ones where people have been wrongly accused! Vigilanteism works both ways!
  • i certainly did not want to offend anyone by making such a suggestion. Sure, I think people's opinions and experiences on eBay ARE important and they SHOULD be shared with everyone. I guess I don't really know what the US Coin Forum is supposed to be all about...but it seems like everyday when I READ it....it seems to be filled up mostly with online auction complaints and experiences. Just a passing thought that I had....but next time...I'll just keep my 180-post-thoughts to myself.

My apologies. I didn't realize only affirmative responses were acceptable. In the future, please add a disclaimer.

Nothing to do with post count. Give me quality over quantity everytime.

    Having said that..........................NO.

If we take the eBay posts out this forum would be empty! image

EBay has become a large part of our coin collecting pursuits. Threads that are about how we obtain our coins fit right in with the rest of it.
If nothing else we learn from each other's experiences on eBay so we can buy there in a somewhat educated manner to avoid the pitfalls.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

I would certainly vote to separate Ebay from this forum.

I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.
