What Kind of Camera should i buy?

Ive been looking at cameras for quite some time now and can never make up my mind on what is needed. I keep looking ta 10x optical zoom camera figuring thats what it'll take to take good pics of coins, but what megapixel do i need with that or am i better off paying the same for a 4x optical with a higher megapixel? please let me know your feeling and what brands seem to be the best.

Thanks,

Jared

If I was buying a new camera I would get a Nikon with at least 5 megapixel. But almost as important is to think about a good lighting set.

Canon Rebel digital SLR with the 100mm f2.8 macro lenstestrite copy stand and (2) 500 watt star lights.

Don't worry about the zoom, at least not for coins. Look for a camera with a macro lens. I have a Kodak EasyShare DX6490. I like it alot, inexpensive, nice macro & zoom (for pictures other than coins). If you want to go with an SLR with removeable lenses, instead of the Digital Rebel (Canon) look for the just-discontinued D10, better built than the Rebel (IMO) & if you can find one, it's now cheaper.
