Would you agree that it's "always a buyer's market?"

Would you?

Under what circumstances would you consider it to be a seller's market in the coin business?

For the most part, numismatics, or any hobby for that matter, is a buyers market.

Don't forget that this is a luxury.

The only time that it is a sellers market is a high demand item or extreme rarity.

Still, funding collections is far less important than living (health, shelter, food, etc)

I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

for the most part with 99.5% of the coins out there it is a buyers market

the other .5% or less a sellers market
  • I'll agree with the others in that it depends what is being sold or bought. If the item is particularly rare or desireable then it is always a seller's market.
